North Junior High School celebrates 'Kindness Week'
North Junior High School's Hope Squad and leadership team put on Kindness Week from Feb. 10 to Feb. 14. During Kindness Week, students took part in activities promoting hope and random acts of kindness. The week also works to bring awareness to mental health resources in the community.
"I think the more that people promote it, and the more that people are involved with these activities, that just bleeds over to that kindness and that niceness that our Vikings can show to one another," Hope Squad teacher Andy Nemeth said.
Students focused on different themes of kindness each day, like generosity, empathy and complimenting others.
"My favorite part of Kindness Week was being able to see all of the activities we did at advisory over the week, up on the photo booth," Hope Squad member Claire Dougherty said. "Kindness Week impacted me by just being able to see students all over North participating in all of the activities that they had and just making more of an effort to be kind."
