Hope Squad Alum Creates Clothing Brand With a Mental Health Mission
For Claire Wiltshire, participation in Hope Squad has led to something greater: Clarity.
A recent graduate of The Summit Country Day School in Cincinnati, Ohio, Claire describes her younger self as “fidgety.” This energy and creativity showed up in a number of entrepreneurial ways: Selling drawings to family members, experimenting with small businesses, and even launching an Etsy shop in middle school.
While those early ventures didn’t always succeed, they taught her important lessons about perseverance, planning, and the value of learning from failure. Over time, Claire began to better understand both her entrepreneurial drive and her desire to make an impact.
It all came together during her involvement in Hope Squad.
As a Hope Squad Member, Claire gained a deeper awareness of mental health and the challenges faced by her peers. She saw how people suffer silently, and how powerful simple acts like checking in, listening, and showing compassion can be.
Combining her Hope Squad experiences and her younger entrepreneurial spirit, Claire founded Clarity, a clothing brand dedicated to supporting mental health while offering comfort and encouragement to those who wear it. Each piece is intentionally created to spark hope and remind individuals they are not alone in their struggles.
Clarity is more than just apparel. The brand donates 20% of its profits to mental health resources, supporting organizations that provide safe spaces and meaningful help for individuals in need.
Inspired by her younger self, Claire also incorporated a unique feature into her designs: A discreet marble fidget sewn into the sleeve, giving wearers a simple, physical way to manage their stress and anxiety throughout their day.
For Claire, Clarity is more than a business. It’s a reflection of the purpose she discovered through her involvement in Hope Squad and a way to extend that mission beyond the walls of her school.
Through both Hope Squad and Clarity, Claire is proving that when young people are empowered to care for others, they can create meaningful change—one conversation, one connection, and one person at a time.
