50 Student Leaders Selected to Serve on Hope Squad National Council in 2026-2027
May 13, 2026 — Provo, Utah — Hope Squad is proud to announce that 50 student leaders have been selected from a pool of over 150 applicants to serve on the 2026-2027 Hope Squad National Council.
This dynamic cohort of 50 high school juniors and seniors, who each represent a unique school across 19 states, brings a powerful mix of perspectives, lived experiences, and a passion for creating cultures of care and connection. These students become spokespeople at the highest level, ensuring that their individual voices and experiences are reflected in and embedded in the work at Hope Squad.
“Our National Council represents the heart of Hope Squad’s mission in action,” said Eric Workman, Hope Squad CEO. “Their leadership and passion continue to inspire meaningful conversations around mental health and suicide prevention in schools and communities nationwide. We are incredibly proud of the impact they will make as they educate peers, advocate for mental wellness, expand the reach of Hope Squad, and help shape the future of our organization.”
National Council members remain active with their campus Hope Squad while at the same time having the opportunity to collaborate with Hope Squad's leadership team to inform programming and offer valuable insights from student perspectives. Council members also participate in webinars, research opportunities, and serve as mental health advocates on a national stage.
“Working with these young people who have such passion for mental health advocacy is inspiring,” said Sara Anderson, National Council Advisor. “Their dedication to normalizing conversations about mental health and supporting their peers highlights the impact young people can have in their schools and communities. Seeing them lead with empathy and courage gives me tremendous hope for the future.”
National Council members will begin serving in June, and Hope Squad is looking forward to making a substantial impact on mental health together.
